Well, what was going to be an easy, afternoon jog after Anders woke up around 4pm turned into an eventful evening and a run much later in the day. First Kona got ahold of an entire bowl of cherry pits, and the emergency vet line recommended we induce vomiting to make sure she doesn't get cyanide poisoning.

Then, round about the time I was standing in the front lawn waiting for Kona to throw up again, the power line across the street from our house started to smoke and spark and caught flame, and all the houses on the other side of the street on our block lost power. The whole power line lit up like a light show, and the roof of the house kitty-corner to us caught fire. I spent about an hour outside with the neighbors describing the event to the fire department, and two trucks spent the evening outside our house.

Around 8:30pm, when I was finally convinced Kona wasn't dying, I headed out for my run. My apologies to Anders for feeding our dog cherry pits and thus ensuring he didn't have time to run today before he went to work for a night shift.

I could have run faster, I just didn't really want to, so figured that meant I shouldn't. My legs didn't feel good, but they didn't feel bad either.

I had a lot of GI discomfort in the second half, but I probably deserve it. I just force-fed our 18 week old puppy hydrogen peroxide.

Wow, what a day. Way to get in the miles and decompress after such unexpected stresses!
