Notes

A beautiful 10 miler on the 4th of July, to kick start my first full week of July running.

July is here, I'm officially registered for the TC 10 on October 9th, and its time to start a build towards focused training. I'm excited about tackling another big race, especially after some great down time and easy running in the month of June. Additionally, it means I already have a date on the calendar to come home during the fall semester, and that is always exciting.

June has been incredibly chaotic with the lifestyle that comes with camp, and extremely early and busy mornings make for not a lot of mileage. This has always worked well in conjunction with a Luther timeline as far as summer training goes, and it worked well again this summer. I am at camp through August 3rd, and it will be tricky to try to build to high mileage over the next month. However, I'm feeling up for the challenge right now, and now that we have successfully finished a session of every age group which we will have in camp, the unknowns and major time consumers will hopefully continue to dissipate, and I will have a little more time for training. The beginning of the build might mean some short and more frequent doubles than I would usually incorporate this early in a mileage build, but I think just getting the miles in, however that happens, will be most important during these first few weeks.

I hit 40 miles last week as my last week in June, and the goal is 50 this week.

Let the running begin!
