This was a really fun and fairly difficult run. Anders and I took advantage of being at a family friends’ cabin in Hayward and took to the Birkie trails for a long run on trails and rolling/burly topography.

Ran the trails for about 9 miles from OO to mosquito brook, and then ran the roads from mosquito brook back to the cabin. It was a tough run, and my legs got significantly fatigued by the end. Especially this early in the training cycle, Anders and I agreed it was a really productive day. And always fun to be in Hayward and enjoy the scenery.

Averaged about 8:40 while we were on the trails, and then about 7:40 on the roads. 2hrs and 20min is the longest run I’ve done in quite a while, and I could tell. The last couple miles were a bit of a slog, and thanks to Anders for getting me back to the cabin.

A jump into the lake upon finishing made the slog worth it.
