Twin Springs

Notes

Had a good recovery day today. The legs were not feeling great, a slow pace and relaxed effort was definitely necessary, but the GI tract cooperated, so that was superb.

Ran Twin Springs in the best direction, thank you, again, Emma, for showing me your discovery a couple years ago, and then return via Dug Road and the dike and ended with a barefoot mile on the course.

I'm hoping the legs feel recovered tomorrow, as I am heading out to run B Hills with the team. I'm excited for one of my favorite workouts and I hope things go well!

:) Glad to be able to make Twin Springs a great experience. That route needs a name. "Twin Springs Out-and Back" doesn't seem very creative. Any ideas?

GOOD LUCK with B Hills tomorrow! I'll be thinking of the Norse team running in such a great venue on what hopefully is a beautiful fall afternoon.

Safe travels up to the Cities! I hope you have a fantastic weekend reuniting with old friends. Make good choices! ;)

What do you consider the best direction on Twin Springs?

Maggie P

The Best direction is definitely to take a left at the fork on your way up, and run the longer, more gradual climb around to the back of the bluff up to the bridge, and then turn around and come down that same direction, as opposed to running up the steep rocky face on the front side.

Drew5

My immediate reaction is to say that is wrong. I have always preferred going up the steep part and going down the gradual part. That descent is so much fun.

Your description makes it sound like you don't actually complete all of Twin Springs though, you go up and down the gradual climb? I could accept that as a good option since I haven't tried it.

Maggie P

Correct, up and down the gradual climb. Try it out next time you're around, it's great. And then if you decide you hate it you can bash it all you want. And I will then direct all your bashings to emma.

Emma Spoon

Fair enough. I can take any and all bashings from Drew. Also, I like this route because it's actually a little longer than the usual Twin Springs loop. I have nothing against the steep uphill most days, but I like extending the climbing into a more gradual ascent and enjoying the long downhill too. It seems like a slightly safer option.
