Notes
Good run to kick off hopefully the biggest week of my life so far. 80 miles. here we go!
Ran with the New Haven Road Runners (NHRR) this morning. We ran a new loop for me (sweet, always good to find new routes), that was about a 6 miles loop. I ran 2 before I met the group at 6:30am, and then added about 3 afterwards. The loop took us up slightly into East Rock Park, but not close to the summit at all. We didn't run any of the trails, we ran the paved road up and crossed the park, and then came out the other side. Ran Whitney St. sort of around the park and then cruised back through the orange street district towards home. We definitely moved along this morning. About a 7:20 ish pace I would estimate.
Ran with Sarah- 5th year Yale grad student headed for a Master's in Comparative Literature. Seems to really love running, but doesn't appear to have much of a background in training or a very large knowledge basis. But OVERLY nice and very fun to run with.
Alice- 3rd year Yale grad student studying history. Originally from Chicago, so almost sorta-ish a Midwest connection.
Very nice, seems to have a little bit more of a mind for training, but also just out to run for the joy of running. Racing a 50k trail race in about 2 months, and it seems like we have a mutual love for trail running. She should be a great person for me to run with this year.
Alex- new to the group today. Didn't say much but was nice enough to talk to and could keep up.
2nd group that ran about 8 min pace ish
Paul- 1st year student in my program
Michel- 2nd year male student from switzerland
Marta- not sure her story, exchange student from somewhere??
