I know I know, at first glance Steve Pasche would be scolding me. I've run 8 miles three days in a row. However, none of the runs have been at all similar, and usually in these instances Steve says as long as there is variation its alright. So take that, if Steve Pasche says its acceptable, than by golly its acceptable.

Long post about the run on Tuesday a couple days back, that one was an easy, relaxed 8.

Yesterday's 8 was all on trails. Definitely still relaxed, but constantly changing topography and elevation, so a very different run than the day before. Yesterday I hadn't planned to go 8, it was just the number of miles I happened to be at when I decided I was tired enough to be done for the day. I was still trying to conserve energy after some undesirable fatigue over the weekend, and apparently 2 days in a row 8 was the magic number.

Today: I also hadn't necessarily planned to go 8 today either. I wanted a fluffy workout, nothing hard at all, just a little change in effort to split up the miles. The paces were not at all deliberate. The workout was a continuation of my recovery this week, married with a reminder to my body that I have goals to go fast in 9 days. I think I successfully accomplished this, and again was delightfully tired upon finishing.

Warm Up

1 mile tempo- time to drift and an opportunity find and lock into a pace that truly seemed like a relaxed tempo.

Few minutes off

3 mile tempo @ the relaxed tempo pace, no at all trying to progress to anything faster, even towards the end

Way cool. Love to hear your sophisticated reasoning. That's a great amount of work (albeit feeling good and not over-doing it). Chapeau to you!

I looked at your summary page and definitely noticed that you ran the same distance three days in a row! haha. I agree with your rationale though.

Cholo, of course you did, we are both products of the Pasche school of distance running ;)
