Easy run in between rain showers. The rain came and came hard about 3 miles in, but by that time I was already out and had worked up a decent sweat, so the rain was refreshing and made the run memorable.

Last week I ran 30 miles and my goal was to run everyday that I wanted to, and run easy and only for as long as was enjoyable and didn't take a lot of mental fortitude. The recovery is as much mental as it is physical. I imagine this week will naturally and organically bring a few more miles, but I'm still looking at it as a week of recovery. Next week I go to Decorah for 5 days to coach a running camp, and I'll inevitably end up with lots of volume pretty easily, and an assortment of random fartleky workouts with the high school kids. So I'm thinking that will serve as a transition back into higher volume and quality again. So that'll give me 2 weeks of easy recovery post race, and three weeks away from formal training. One week into that block, it seems like a good amount of time before jumping back in again. I'm both determined to put in a huge block coming up, and also enjoying the down time. The lack of any sort of stress from training is a little disorienting and also superbly refreshing.
