Why was I in this heat, why was I seeded BEHIND everyone I beat at messiah. Rolling schedule meant the warmup was an hour early, so I was already shivering on the line. Not fun, but I guess I got to go another race without any competition?
I'm more annoyed than anything because I deliberately chose to not do a road 5k before. And now I know next time around it'll be a much better use of my time. I know my fitness is good for longer races off of the workouts, but I feel like not racing anything longer for almost a month (because of the compressed schedule of course) is a bit suboptimal.
I guess I could've gone harder, but I think I need the right people to chase after. I haven't had that opportunity in the mile for over a year now really. I'm just mad that I had a decent shot at getting prize money earlier and I can't get that thought out of my head now. All I'd have to do is beat the Fish which would also put me in front of Sammy G now that he's thoroughly rinsed.
Apparently also had family there that I haven't met in awhile. Ugh, it just feels like I closed a door by going all in on saving stuff for next week.
