I would say overall solid avg race. Nothing great nothing bad accept maybe the start but given how i was feeling and where I finished i would say that was the proper start. about 200 meters before single track and everyone took off hard and my legs were stuck in mud feeling. After 600 meters I was probably in 10th or so. 1 by 1 was moving up and by the time the steep hills started I was within striking of top 5. picked a few off there. by the hill of the steep hills and on the flat section I was unsure exactly where I was. Turns out in 5th. Over the next 1 mile of flat running i moved into 3rd where I stayed. About halfway i questioned a fork and cost myself a 45 seconds to a min which is frustrating. Guy behind me caught up so I started pushing to get a gap again. At parts felt like i was moving well but my stomach would bother me some and held up a little maybe. Ended up less the 50 seconds behind Austin same as the 5k which is frustrating. Would have had a shot if i didn't question the turn i took. He probably had an off day but still. Overall give the mistake in 2021 and today the results were probably pretty close to equal.
The steep hills not strong. Steep down no confindence in footing or line. Flat i was decent.
