After 2 days of running with an iPod (I don't know what was up with that) it was nice to just enjoy quiet, lovely nature on the trails. It was actually a pretty nice day. Partly cloudy, not too cold. I didn't see a single person on my run (though I did run very close to a large group of deer), so it was nice.
The trail was not in great shape, however. It doubles as an equestrian trail, and it appears as though a group of riders took their horses out on the trail on a day when it was damp, so the trail was pretty tore up in quite a few spots. Plus...the ground is now frozen, so that made it worse. Other than that (and the numerous piles of horse droppings I had to avoid) it was pretty nice.
I was tired though, and never really felt relaxed...which is too bad...but to be expected. My right calf is tight, and my hip is sore. Man...it sucks getting old.
