Notes
Deliberately took it easy, since I'm in the middle of training (with a 12m last weekend and a 14 this coming weekend). Didn't train specifically for this race, went to a party last night, didn't get much sleep (but I never do the night before a race).
Went out slow, took a potty break about 2 miles in (which cost me 2 minutes), and that probably helped me let go of my type-A-itude. Had extra in the tank in the last few miles--I was singing and passing people. Definitely could've done sub-2:10 if I'd been trying for that. Maybe after Santa Barbara I'll train properly for a half?
Splits:
5K: 33:15 (10:43/mile)--includes a bathroom break around 2 miles in
10K: 1:05:04 (10:29/mile)
10 mile: 1:45:08 (10:31/mile)--with another bathroom break, I think round about 9 miles?
Evidently I really opened it up in the last three miles, if I was able to pull my average down to 10:16.
