Notes

Pre-race: mini bagel, honey, banana, peanut butter, oj, coffee, water;

one GU 15 minutes before race

Race: did GU every 45 minutes; water for 8 miles, then powerade, then water, then water/Gatorade mix

Did 14min/1min run/walk until 4 hours in and had to walk the hills.

Today's marathon was much better overall than the OKC. I was running strong until around mile 24 and just could not handle the long hill up 21st past St John's hospital. My ITbands were fine, but my feet bottoms hurt around mile 18 or so.

My left hip hurt around mile 24. The race finishes down hill for the last half mile which was an incredible blessing!

I was doing pretty well until I bonked around mile 24. I just could not keep running without stopping to walk.

I may feel different in a couple of days/weeks, but I think I am definitely going to transition to trail running and maybe a half-marathon periodically. Right now I am sick and tired of asphalt!
