1: Need to start working on my speed
2: Stay healthy and run..
Figure out my meniscus if not 2014
2 Marathons including New Brunswick
More pub crawls
No more than 10 races
Don't let my step-daughter's July wedding interfere if there is a race that weekend
First marathon, BQ (sub 3:25, M45-49)
1. Run at least 2015k.
2. 2:15 half marathon. Not sure when that will happen; the only one I have planned now is Surf City. Pretty sure I can't drop 7 minutes from my October half by Feb 1, so it may have to happen later in the year.
3. LA Marathon.

You gotta have priorities!
I'm in a similar boat. I want to do a big race the weekend my daughter graduates college. She told me she was going to Vegas with some friends, so I thought I was in luck. Then a couple of weeks later she mentioned the Vegas trip was a week after graduation. She still wants the whole graduation weekend party, grandparents visiting from out-of-state, etc. So my big race is off the calendar.
FFS. 1. Run.

After my poor marathon last week, I am going to revisit that distance again next November.
Sp the only goal that matters for next year is a 3:50 Marathon.
I just need to think about how to train to get there.
5K 20:23 (Vdot 48.7) 9/9/17
10K 44:06 (Vdot 46.3) 3/11/17
HM 1:33:48 (Vdot 48.6) 11/11/17
FM 4:13:43 (Vdot 35.4) 3/4/18

Try following the plan I posted.

I am stealing this one.

1. Stay healthy/injury free.
2. More core work.
3. Run as many miles as I can (usually five days a week) and have fun doing it.
4. Sign up for more races of all distances.
5. Run a destination marathon.
From the Internet.
Setting some ambitious goals for next year...
1. At least 1300 miles
2. Race a couple of half marathons, probably one spring and one early/mid fall. My 5k and 10k times predict ~1:50:00 for a half, if I can get my miles up and run somewhere in the 1:4xx range I'll be absolutely thrilled. Sub-2 hours will be fine for the first one, and even just finishing will be an automatic PR
3. Run first marathon - Philly 2015. The goal is to finish standing upright at this point, will worry about pace once I get through the whole base-building thing and run some longer races.
4. If more miles will get me PRs at shorter distances too I will be happy!

Don't know yet. I have unfinished 2014 business.
Yeah.
chasing the impossible
because i never shut up ... i blog
That reminds me of a line from Kill Bill Volume 1 (one of my all-time favorite flicks along with volume 2); "O-Ren Ishii! You and I have unfinished business!".
When I was pursuing a sub 3 last year, Goo told me to do everything I could to put in some 100 mile weeks. Well, I didn't manage to do that but I did manage several 80+ mile weeks and a couple of 90+ mile weeks. That level of mileage is the only reason I had the strength to make Mile 25-26 my fastest mile of the race by about 30 seconds. I'm not saying that you need to put in that kind of mileage but Goo's idea of getting in every damn mile you can possibly run makes a lot of sense in the marathon.
Short term goal: 17:59 5K
Mid term goal: 2:54:59 marathon
Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life. (I started running at age 45).
