Rest and recovery are important parts of training.
Dang does that mean because I am 52 I should be taking rest days
Are we there, yet?
It means you should rest between runs, during which you can include other activities like eating and sleeping.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Ah well in between runs I swim and cycle. Need to look into that resting concept now that I am old

I'm fairly certain that 45 is not "older." I' pretty sure that starts somewhere around 60. But ask me in ten years, and I'll probably have a better idea. Meanwhile, the answer to the question is "I hope not."
I'm going to say no, that 60 is not old either. I'm being nice now. Next time, I won't.

45 is "older"? Dammit, I am getting close! A BQ should be pretty easy when I am 45 though, so bring it on.

I have been using Sporttracks for a few years in addition to logging my runs here. I was playing around with it the other day and found a report that shows how much time you spend "jogging" compared to "running". Apparently I spend quite a bit of time jogging (whenever I run uphill).

I have no problem with being old being 45, as long is in increments by +1 not later than the middle of January each year, Starting 2014.

I have no problem with being old being 45...
Me neither. I can outdo or hold my own against the youngins' in my fam at just about any physical activity except loafing around on my ass. And ya know what, I am okay with losing to them on that one.

I think I watched a Penn and Teller show that said that when people were asked how old is old, it turned out it was your age plus 20 years. 67 is old.... no offence...just sayin...
That's retirement age right????
