In theory you are correct but as with everything there are always exceptions, like here at mile 2.8.

I don't think I have ever had a race picture where I am smiling. But 99% of my pictures are a disaster
Early in my racing career, I felt the need to smile for the cameras. Now (if I am in any position to control my expression), I just try to look ”focused”.
