Marathon Maniac #3309
Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!
I am off to buy a dress. I tried one on over the weekend that looked nice on me but it was a 6. I think I am probably a 7, so the Saint is going to help me pick something out that is stylish and shows off my slim figure while also giving me a bit more room around the chest. More on this tomorrow.

2.3 out of my 5 miles done for today. Running around here sometimes is just plain uncomfortable! I was stinkin' hot and freezing cold at the same time, and decided to do the rest of my run after the sun has set. Technically it is 30°F with a "real feel" of 22°... but the spread felt more like 55° on my back and 10° my front when running north, and the opposite running south. I think I needed to switch directions every block to possibly average out my body temperature (why didn't I think of that while out there?) So, 2.7 more to go at 5 p.m. Tomorrow I will not ignore my alarm!
"During a marathon, I run about two-thirds of the time. That's plenty." - Margaret Davis, 85 Ed Whitlock regarding his 2:54:48 marathon at age 73, "That was a good day. It was never a struggle."
"Champions are everywhere; all you need is to train them properly..." ~Arthur Lydiard
Trails are hard!
Need a fast half for late fall. Then I need to actually train for it.

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.
Be safe. Be kind.

I was workin' on my tan today... 5 easy miles at lunchtime, 65 degrees and sunny!
I’ve been busy with life; fortunately this is a cutback week for me. My plan was for a shorter 4-mile tempo as part of today’s 8-mile run. Since I’m running a local 4-mile race on Sunday, I thought I’d open it up today and see if I was ready to go after last year’s PR time of 24:18 (the only 4-mile race I’ve ever done). So I warmed up, ran hard for four miles by feel, and then looked at my watch: 24:18. I had to laugh.
serpentine, serpentine!
