      THE PLAYING OF THE MIND

lesson #1...start to envision yourself as the beast you really are. if you can envision, you can believe. if you believe, you can role play, if you can role play, you will become.

I think I will stay out of the Y pool for awhile if there is all this "ass spue" in it.

        What was I chasing again?

die a triasslete, is that like legionnaires disease? I read you can get that at hot tubs and I believe it.

            my thought process.....

is this a joke? wth is legionnaires? i don't get it. better google that. well that's a real disease. is that still a joke? i don't get it. maybe it's a serious statement. triasslete is a made up word. anything that can live in a hot tub can live in a pool. there could be legionnaires in the pool? this is a joke. but what if it isn't...i don't want that. i have swallowed that water. it's probably been in my lungs. why did i just cough? fuck my ab hurts when i cough...you fucking moronically mental air head.

            this mornings coffee...I'M UP!

makes sense. whatever...once the wetsuit goes on in the great outdoors, all assumptions, bets and sandbags are off. i don't care how good you are in the pool.

I could do this mass entrance beatdown whatever you want to call it next time we are there.  We aren't that far apart in speed with my fins and when you are just cruising.  We could just take turns beating the snot out of each other.  Maybe we'd start something.  Everyone would start doing it, like the barf-o-rama on Stand By Me.

Lifeguards may have some raised eyebrows.

Huh, now I'm curious. My assumption was that this was the next step in your Jedi tri-training, and you'd be 100% on the receiving end of elbows to the head and kicks in the junk and whatnot. Now I'm not so sure.

A list of my PRs in a misguided attempt to impress people that do not care.

Yeah I think she needs it at least as much as me. Or thinks she does. I'm screwed on the swim no matter what but not real concerned.

It actually would be a good experience as long as she's not just taking the opportunity to beat the crap out of me.

We aren't that far apart in speed with my fins and when you are just napping.

OK, ouch.  Point taken.  This doesn't really hurt though because I already know I suck.

In that case, it will work better probably if I just stand in your lane and just pelt you as you swim by.  That works too.

It actually would be a good experience as long as she's not just taking the opportunity to beat the crap out of me.

i will not be able to give you "the experience" to the extent i gave michelle for obvious reasons in the pool...however i can give you a taste for my own amusement.

i also meant to tell you a while ago another area where the pool fails to prepare and that is sighting. the pool provides a nice line for you to follow where open water you either see the creepy bottom or black. so where your sighting below the surface in the pool, you have to sight above the surface in open water. it is very easy to swim a straight line in a lined lane but if you take that away, it is very easy to swim in a zig zag or circle and not even realise it - especially if there is chaos all around you. you can however close your eyes when your head is down in the pool to get a sense of how this will be. also, sighting above the surface can be tiring (especially in a constricting wetsuit) you can pratice this also half assly by picking something to look at in the pool...like the clock...or the lifeguard or a hot chick. just sight quickly...the longer your looking up the more tiring it is to keep your head up and it also causes drag and slows you down (duh-hilt).

and quite honestly...it it waay early to be worrying about all this. there is plenty of time to play all this out and practice and get comfortable. i just wanted you to put it in the back of you mind until your other goals are met and your ready.

I can throw things at him if it will help.  Pool floatation devices, shoes or flip-flops people leave by the side, small children... ect...
