Plantars can range from a minor inconvenience too career ending. If you can manage it with regular icing & stretching without it getting worse than great, keep going if it keeps getting worse, best to back off and let it heal up. Mine kept getting worse until I was eventually forced to take the better part of six months off for it to completely heal. I found alternating heat and ice worked well and had to sleep (and still do occasionally) with a boot on. Most runners run too fast, too often to Robin's other point, even a lot of folks in this group. FOr me once i had gone too far, I couldn't swim or bike either.
