Notes

A very satisfying run on the Trail at Mabie Forest. I run with my friend Les who although more of a canoeist was fit enough to lead with me guiding us around the narrow paths and interesting landscape of the Forest. Here is where last year I finished as the 1st Superveteran lady. It was a beautiful day, scenery, weather and all went well or as well as could have been expected and better. CS was mild to moderate at times but I was surprised to run the whole course with last 2 miles in a faster and comfortable pace. This is a tough course and I expected to run at least 1 min slower than I did. Not that time matters but this gives me an indication of how well I managed indeed and with less effort. Les did extremely well and one would not think for a moment that he is a canoeist and not a runner. He was very light on this feet although he had not done this distance and type of run for at least 16 yrs. He really enjoyed the run but it is expected that tomorrow will pay a price for it. While running I felt that the soft grounds took a lot of pressure off my needy legs. There is no doubt in my mind that soft grounds help my running a lot more than plain concrete road surface as I get less impact and feels more bouncy. A positive run indeed and with no extreme pain.
