At Chicago O'Hare Marriott for promotion interview. Got up at 4:30am was on the road at 5:15, flew out of St. Louis at 9 and arrived in Chicago at 10:00. My interview with two DSMs was at 5pm and I prepared all day leading up to it. Brad, Greg and I all applied for the promotion. Brad went first at 1:30, then Greg at 3:15 and me at 5:00pm. We were notified at 7:30pm that I was being moved to the next round of interviews the following day and that Brad and Greg could go home. That's tough for everyone, but I look at it like a race. I train with a lot of my friends, but on race day it's a competition and everyone does their best. I went to the gym and got a run in before bed. I was exhausted but the run helped clear my mind. There was only one guy in the gym and we spoke briefly. Although the hotel probably had hundreds of guests the guy in the Gym turned out to be the Regional Manager that I interviewed with the next day. Neither of us knew! What are the odds?
