COMMENTS: First mile (6:28) was tough. I let Tom and William go, because I thought I could reel them back in. Second mile was quicker than the first, but I never felt like I was racing. This mile I let Phil go, thinking I could reel him back in. Third mile I was in 8th place and simply tried to hold pace. Noone challenging me from behind. I had a lot left on the last downhill tenth, but no intestinal fortitude to use it. William 4th, Tom 5th, Phil 6th and I finished 8th. Slowest 5K of the year and only 58 seconds slower, than I averaged per 5K, in NY Marathon, one month ago. Explain that to me!
