Notes
Man the wheels fell of this one! I guess I have myself to blame. Given being sick and all, I should have tried to get out in 7s and bring it home fast. Unfortunately, got out feeling OK and just tried to roll with it. First water stop I found that they had those lousy cups you can't pinch. Didn't even get a mouthful. Settled into a nice pack and just tried to work with them as long as I could. Second water stop, made sure to get plenty. Was still rolling OK through 8. Then I just started falling apart. Talked to Melissa Gacek a bit around 10 and we were both in the same boat, felt terrible and really wanted to drop out. I give her credit, she stuck with it. The last 7.5 were pretty much a death march (for me). The last 1.5 was all about just trying to push. Fairly happy that I was able to pick it up again.
The heat/humidity today were ATROCIOUS! I lubed up extra good and still had serious chafing and a bloody nipple.
So, I will chalk this up to a bad day due to health/heat/humidity.
Seriously thinking about changing the plans for Chicago. Might be a day to pace Dan/Chris for the first 20 and then see if I can hammer the last 10k. Will talk to Ron/Brian and get their input.
