Notes

Decent effort. Was hoping the pick it up as I went along, but I kind of lost focus. Did I get out too fast? Yes! Did it cost me? I don't think so. Just wasn't my day. As I said to Brian when I ran by at one point -- "It's boring out here!"

So, got to the line and saw a few guys that I thought could get after it and a lot that didn't look like it. Wanted to get out a bit aggressively to make sure I had a clear space onto the path. Succeeded there, but maybe a bit hot. Dan Greeno was right with me for about two strides and then took off. He was flying. So, now I am by myself until I hit the mile. Another guy passes me at this point and then one more. So, now I am sitting in 4th before I even hit mile 3. Ok, just run. At this point I decided to ignore pace. I wasn't feeling terrible, but not stellar either. So, I would periodically check HR, but mainly run by effort. Had the beginning of a stitch during warm-up that kept lurking, but never did much.

Got passed by two more guys at mile 10 and 12. At that point, I just didn't really have the drive in my belly to chase them. One guy looked like he had tempo'd it up to that point. So, the last time up Puke's peak was a shit show and then I just tried to turn em over to the finish.

I will grade today a low B or high C. Could have been a lot better, but this is still a top 3 25k lifetime...

Not a goal race, but a decent workout!
