Not totally displeased with this, but not overly happy. Goal was to be sub 38 minutes. I think mile 3 cost me that. The good news is that just before the turnaround, Jim Larranaga came up on me and got me back in the game. We jousted a bit for about a half mile and then I started to pull away a bit. There was another guy with him that kept in my peripheral vision, and I wasn't sure if it was Jim or the other guy. Helped keep me focused. Pat Wehr was just ahead of me and I was torn -- go after Pat and risk blowing up and not winning my age group or back off just a touch and ensure the AG win. I decided to ensure the AG win. Turns out Larranaga wasn't the one to worry about. There was another 57-year-old that beat Jim by 2 seconds. I did beat both of them by 20 seconds.
So, 4 of 6 good miles overall. The two poor ones cost me.
