A very good race. VERY pleased with the effort. Just racing and not worrying about pace. Temps were a bit cold, but once running, there were no problems. Footing was another story. I think equivalent effort is at least 30 seconds faster if the streets were clear. Oh well, still ran a good race.
Got out comfortably hard in around 3rd place. Ryan Evans leading and running comfortably. Around 0.75 miles, Brian and I pull up on the 2nd place runner (Zach Brintz), he is working a bit harder than he should at this point. Put on a surge and never hear from him again. Ryan still up there, just cruising. Brian and I are neck and neck. Through the neighborhoods, the streets are REALLY bad. Evans has on yaktraks. Might not have been a bad idea? I surge a bit at around 1.5 and Brian falls back a bit. Still in touch, so I have to stay on it. Nothing much going on until about 0.25 from the finish. I am working HARD to try to close the gap on Evans. get to within maybe 10 or 15 feet, but then he senses me and pulls away a bit. He didn't beat me by a lot, but probably could have.
Brian finished comfortably in 3rd around 6 or 7 seconds behind me.

My Garmin measured the course at 3.02, Brian's at 3.06. Whatever -- it was just about racing -- which I did!
