UGH!!!
A bit disappointed in the execution of this race. Going in, I knew this was not going to be a good race (self fulfilling prophecy?), but really tried to focus and hitting a negative split -- FAIL!!!
At the start, everyone got out REALLY hot!!! I knew I was fast and I was backing off, but everyone was just walking away from me. I guess I didn't let up enough. Hit the 1/4 in sub 1:15 -- Not good. OK, forget it nd move on. Second 1/4 comes in 1:16. Hmmm -- Do I have better day than planned? Well, maybe for the next 200 and then the wheels started to come off. Still passing people, but the ones I needed to be with were too far out of reach. Hit the third 1/4 in 1:20 and tried to re-focus and pick some people off. Got a few people I don't know and I got Rob Class. Paul Brown was a head a bit and stayed there.
So, I need to get focused on training and get my sh$t together!!!
