Another successful race. Goal this time was just to make sure I stayed ahead of Kirt -- check!
Got out comfortably hard and just tried to settle in. When we got to the hill just past the mile, he moved up on my right shoulder -- oh no you don't. Put on a good hard surge and put some distance on him. Could see Jim up ahead (not sure why he didn't run the 10k?) and put a target on him. Passed him right around the 2 mile mark. As we turned onto the parkway, just trying to turn em over and keep moving. Could see "Jim" in my peripheral vision, but had forgot about Kirt. Just before I hit mile 3, I heard someone yell for Kirt -- uh oh, better kick it down. So, started stepping and was able to hold him off -- phew!
Pretty happy with this race as well!
