Notes

First run since Thursday evening, after a rough day at work in which i did'nt feel good most of the day, so i thought i would take the day off(afterall it is the taper) better off taking the day off rather than pushing the issue. Woke up late on Saturday morning after an uncharacteristic sleep in late, had to run to Charleston to get stuff for Caleb's birthday party later in that day. I was still not feeling very good and was uncertain if i was coming down with something. I was thinking about going ahead and running to c how it would turn out, but then Caleb wanted to go with daddy to town, so i said ok and if i felt better later, then i would go out for a few miles later that evening, after the party was over i still felt lethargic, fatigued and started feeling achy, so i thought, i'll rest up this evening and feel better in the morning for a good group run w/the TTC, fast forward to this morning, i slept in late again, but felt a little better than i did yesterday, but still not feeling well, so then i was faced with a dilemma, to take a 3rd day off, or go c how things would turn out. I took longer than i wanted to b4 heading to town, by then the temps had climbed higher than i thought. So when i got to UC it was 77 degrees, and i knew better than starting a LR of any distance in those conditions, especially with my past history, so i just kept it short and sweet, something to get the legs moving again, and it worked out pretty good. I did 1 mile and the legs did'nt feel quite right so i stretched a little between the 1st and 2nd mile, and the legs felt better for the next 3 miles. The speed was there, right where i left off on Thursday, except for the temps were a little higher. As i sit here in the recliner typing this i still feel a little stiff and achy, and i've been a little more chilly this evening than normal, so i am still not sure if i have come down with something, but even if i have then it should b on the mend soon, and hopefully things will get better this week. It's amazing at how fickle we distance runners can b to begin to unravel w/one week to go before the big day, rather than rest quietly and confidently in the hard training that has been completed for the last several months, but i sure do hope whatever it is going on, that it ends sooner rather than later. Splits for this run:7:54,8:01,7:57,and 7:42.
