Notes

Raining and cool, perfect conditions. Been on vacation this week and spent all my time tearing down the old pool deck and starting to build a new set of stairs, plus going up to CL2 one day. This is the first chance I've had to run. Plan was to do all the singletrack. Started out right at the beginning of the Homestead trail. My right leg had a lot of nerve irritation, felt like needles in my foot for about 1/4 miles or so then was ok. This has been bothering me on and off since last Friday. The running was good and had good traction on the wet rocks and bridges with my shoes. Stopped at the picnic area to check out a new Memorial bench that was just put in. It looked nice. Ran the rest of the Homestead out to the main trail and then started up the Ridge trail. I had been keeping the pace comfortable but climbing was a little more work. Went to the top and then onto the Deer Path connector trail. This looked like it had been raked. Stopped at the intersection with the deer path to have a GU. There was deer fly buzzing around me every time I stopped, even though it was raining. Kept going and felt really good, nice to be running and not be all hot and beat. Made it back out to the main trail and took the new single track to the Porcupine trail. Ran that trail back to the start. Started to get tired on this trail, but made it back ok. Good run would have been a good day to go long. Everything felt good.
