Notes

Annual Fat Ass run set up by Val Abradi. Road down with Billy. We had about 4 inches of snow overnight. Trees all covered, very pretty. Bob Poirier was there and Billy and I ran with him for all but some of the first lap. It was already kinda warm and supposed to get warmer. Starting out some people wore snowshoes and some just microspikes. Everyone started off pretty fast. I slowed down but Bob and Billy ended up ahead of me running with Bob Dunfey. Out at the turn around I stopped to pee, Billy did too and waited for me so we finished together. The first loop was tough, breaking trail and my goal of 20 miles wasn't going to happen. The trail was starting to get packed though. The second loop the picked up an the trail was pretty packed. My left foot was pretty sore and I was starting to tire. At the end I was going to stop. Billy and Bob wanted to go again so they talked my into it. I decided to take off my spikes and just go with my trail shoes. Bob was running in just road shoes. My feet felt a lot better. However out in the first field I slipped on some ice under the snow, saved it, took a few mores steps and down I went. Billy was behind me and got a good show. Bob didn't know anything had happened so he kept going but eventually turned around to see where we were. The wind was blowing pretty hard now. In your face all the way back, finally finished and I was glad I went with them, but probably wouldn't have gone alone. Even though it wasn't 20 it was still a good workout. Foot kinda sore after. Left knee sore too. Fun run though, good to spend some time with Billy and Bob.
