Mexico Ledge

Notes

Sunny, not too hot, 78 deg. Ran by myself. Plan was to run up to the Ledge, then down to Backkingdom road and then reverse it. Ran pretty easy along the Honda trails. Legs felt fatigued just climbing up to Rte. 17. Started up the trail and ran all the hills to the bridge just before the steep climb. Stopped to recover a bit. Ran to just past the sign and had to stop. Legs dead and out of breath. Recovered and then ran all the way up to bridge. Stopped for a minute then continued to the round it stump. Didn’t really stop but kept moving then ran to the Ledge and up to the top. Pretty gasses at this point and considered just going back, but I figured I’d go part way down and see how it was. Started down and I felt ok so I just kept going. It wasn’t as far as I thought to the road. Stopped and turned around on the road, then started running back. I thought I would run as far as I could and then hike. It wasn’t as steep as coming up the other side and I was able to run the whole way to the top. Pretty happy about that. Stopped for bit at the top to recover then headed back. Didn’t go too hard to the round it stump but hammered it all the way down to the pavement. Legs felt good, my lower back which was sore this morning, was ok too. By the time I got down to the Honda trails though my legs were toast. Ran at a moderate pace back to the mill. Good training run, but it didn’t start out that great.
