Notes

Sunny, warm, light breeze, 62 deg. Tempo day, Plan calls for 5 mile mid tempo pace, 8:15 – 8:20. Ran the Black Bridge loop in the race direction. Ran a fairly fast warm-up on the road over to Mexico, up by Heidi’s and out on Rte. 17. At the 1 mile mark I picked up the pace. Felt like I was working pretty hard and the split was under 8:15. The next mile seemed easier. The third mile I went beyond the bridge and then turned around at the mile mark. Miles felt like they were coming easier, although there was a lot of downhill. Ran pretty fast on the section down to Mike Davis’ house and that was the last temp mile. Backed off the pace some and stopped by the bridge at Scottie’s to check out the river and to switch my phone to my right side pocket, it was digging into my ribs on the left side. Got going again and picked up the pace a little. Decided to swing down into Hosmer, so took the trail way down and stopped at the old swimming spot to look around, water is pretty high but really clear. Ran an easier pace on the paved walking path back out to Lincoln Ave. and took the road up by Aubuchon’s back to the mill. Good training run. Legs are pretty tired though. Finally a nice day to run, but going back to the rainy wet cool pattern.
