Notes

Mostly sunny, warm, light breeze, 57 deg. Got a tip from Billy last night that the Falls Hill powerlines were in pretty good shape. Bob rode his bike and I ran. We went up past Agway and then up onto the old powerlines. It wasn’t too wet up there, but I did post hole above my ankle at one spot. Crossed over the bridge and started up the new trail. I was pretty dry. There was quite a bit of running water here and there and still some patches of snow and ice in the shadier places. My legs were feeling the last couple days of running, but I was moving at a pretty good pace. Stopped at the end of the powerlines just before the woods section to have a GU. Crossed Swain road and there had been some logging done or something, there was all kinds of slash just off the road. Ran up and around the reservoir and continued on to the high school trail. Ran pretty fast down that hill. The rest of the way to the high school there was lots of snow still. I ran some of it and broke through once, went into a lunge and thanked Rich that I didn’t fall. Ran Papianeau’s singletrack out to Scottie’s, then back and across the brook to the high school. We stopped at the top of the steep hill to move a tree out of the way that had fallen across the top. Ran through Hosmer and along the river on the way back. Felt like I was moving well even though my legs were tired. Speed work will probably be a little slower tomorrow. Nice day to run, felt great to be back in the woods.
