Notes

Mostly cloudy, very hot, very humid, 83 deg., dew point 70.8. Last ran on Wednesday and headed to Portsmouth this weekend to get fitted for a Tux for the wedding. In case I don’t get out Saturday morning, I didn’t want to go 4 days without running. Bob and ran through Hosmer to the high school, did Papianeau’s singletrack, out through the Scottie’s field and did 1 loop of the XC course. Ran most of the hills, but I was getting pretty hot. On the way back, we went down to the little brook to splash some water, but the mosquitoes were brutal so we didn’t stay long. The heat was really starting to get to me. I ran hard up the hills, then had to stop and walk for a bit to recover. Did this all the way back. Ran hard up the middle of Scottie’s hill, ran hard the second half of the singletrack and easy to the Swift, stopped to cool off again and had a hard time getting going again. Finally on the last half of the river trail I picked it up again. Then an easier pace back to the mill, but strong across the footbridge. First really hot run of the year. Wearing one of my new tank tops really helped. Legs felt fresher than they did the other day but knees still a little painful running downhill. Good run overall.
