Notes

Biggest downside was taking 3 days completely off and a couple days really easy - the right call in the grand scheme but hard to lose the really good momentum as both lifting and running where on a solid upswing.

Running impact seems minimal but after an attempt at lifting yesterday I think I'll need a few sessions to build back up - pretty typical for me after time off / illness. The fatigue at the end of today's run makes me think I'll have to avoid pushing too hard for a bit.

Symptoms were never too bad with mostly just congestion, drainage, headache and fatigue. No days off work (WFH for the win) though was pretty useless on Tuesday and probably should have slept.

Lingering and most annoying problem is with some achy and tight muscles primarily in the neck, back and shoulders and a mild tension headache coming with that. Trying to unwind / release as best I can.

Very happy with my immune system's response, my attitude and discipline around sleep and diet. While in the past I certainly didn't prioritize recovery/healing as well and many years ago would have fought to keep running with maybe just 1 day off - my immune system seems to be way stronger the last couple of years. I have some theories around why this is.

***Sunday Update - extra tired last night after a busy day and on my feet most of it - trip to Field Museum. Was planning to wake up early for some miles but opted for more sleep once the alarm went off. Body is tight and some sinus junk still clearing/moving...maybe a slight infection/maybe not? Regardless, body clearly wants some extra rest so I'll need to be conservative this coming week. Working out some knots in the traps/neck was a game changer though and allowed me to run.
