I finally went back to one of my favorite courses for some off-road hill work. I ran around this 1-mile dirt & gravel loop dozens of times during my marathon buildup in early 2010. It's tough, but a great strength builder. I waited so long to return to it because I'm a bit apprehensive about how my heel will handle it. I did feel a slight bit of discomfort near the end of the run, but nothing serious. I probably should have taken this a little slower, but I was so excited to be running here again & got carried away. I hope to work this course back into my regular training every week. Oh, I also took a pair of Brooks Cascadia 5's on their maiden voyage. I bought them nearly 2 years ago and haven't been able to wear them. They felt good!
