Quick tempo run. I learned a few things from this run:

1. My current running streak (16 days) hasn't "deadened" my legs yet.

2. All the recent slowish miles may actually be beneficial to my speed, by allowing me to not overtrain, while still building a base and endurance.

3. I need to force myself to go out slower in races. The pace of today's run was the same as my last 10k, in which I struggled. Today I went out a LOT slower (7:48/7:19/7:20/6:49/6:57/7:00), yet had plenty in the tank near the end and could have run even faster.

4. I'm really digging these Brooks Launch shoes!

With a run tomorrow, I'll break the modest little streak I set back in 1985. Maybe being old(er) isn't so bad after all!
