Notes
Today was the best weather to run in for a long time.
I ran to W&J track and then after being warmed up proceeded to do 7X800 with 400' rest. it was my best 800 workout ever. I tried to keep in mind that I need to back off the pace but the cooler weather and the new level of fitness just lent itself to faster intervals. My 800 splits were:
1) 3'04"
2) 3'05"
3) 3'04"
4) 3'02"
5) 3'01"
6) 3'01"
7) 2'58"
After my 800s, I took a break before doing a mile cool-down on the track before heading back to Mom and Dad's.
I probably should not have done my speed workout after the weekend. But considering the BT50K is on Saturday, I wanted to get the hard work for the week over and done with so that I can just do easy runs the next 3 days before taking Friday off.
My times really are starting to amaze me. I am so happy that I can see some improvement. Plus, it is nice from time to time to see just how much the weather impacts one's performance. If I get a cool "perfect" conditions day in Chicago this October, it bodes well given the type and style of training I am pursuing.
