Wow! I was not expecting this to happen with mile repeats but I felt really good! To start off I was a little sluggish but once I got going my splits were amazing and I felt really relaxed. I did 3 mile repeats w/ 3 minute recovery between each (jogging ~1/4-1/3 of a mile)
1 - 5.26
I felt surpisingly well and was not expecting anything faster than a 5.40 so this was a big welcome surprise
2 - 5.17
I was even more surprised to see this one come to me, I was expecting somewhere around a 5.30 and 5.17 was amazing. Not to mention I was feeling very relaxed and not really pushing hard!
3 - 5.13
This one made me push a little more, I was still relaxed but I wanted to see about where I would be at if I gave some more effort. I thought about hitting one more after this but figured I had better not push my luck.
Overall, I have been trying to figure out what this run really means to me and how it will affect how I train from now until the marathon.
