You guys have some great insight.... thank you Cheeseburger... and Hi Bob, I did download the FirstRun application and the acclaimed couch to 5K with that is awesome. It is an audio program where if I had to plug earphones in my ears and I could just listen to what I am supposed to do. It was just awesome.... and a very relaxed program. Hi Katy and Christirei , yes the couch to 5K program has actually worked for me... So for how long I am supposed to continue with this?
C25k programs are usually about 9 weeks long. At the end of that time, you'll be able to run continuously for either 30 minutes or 5k. From there, you'll gradually increase the distance/time as far as you choose. You may decide to follow another program, to get you up to 10k or beyond, or you may decide to just run 3 or 4 days a week for 30-60 minutes to stay healthy and fit. It's up to you.
