Sub-90 Minutes for the Half Marathon (2011) (Read 6744 times)

Nice run Nads!  It's not sub-90 but it's still a PR.  You've been putting in some good work and I know will continue to drop that half time.  Keep after it!

Nadar, Nice to PR on such a warm day. I think you are in for big PR in Philly.

Since I was registered for the Wilmington Half, I sent one of my peeps to keep an eye on you.  Looks like Andy did his job well, congrats on a well run race!

                 Oh, ha! Thank you.

                Yeah, nice guy.

"I think I know some people from your club."

                "Oh yeah, who?"

                "Bashkim."

                "Yeah!"

                "E.J."

A huge grin forms on his face: "E.J.'s a madman."

                Some chit-chat, then:

"So, how do you know those guys?"

"Uh, we have this little group on the Internet..."

                [polite, puzzled expression]

                  Hi guys

I can unexpectedly join the club after a great run today!

My last HM time was 1:47, but I wasn't quite on top form. My best time (about 7 years ago) was 1:39.

I decided a few months ago to get properly in shape and aimed to beat my 1:39. I ran fast and often, ate sensible food and did some cycling and weights too. I thought maybe I could get down ot 1:35. I didn't join the people going for sub-90 on this thread as I thought it was beyond me.

                  Today I got 1:26:07!

I hope that's some help to people in showing that training really works (race day adrenilin seems to do lots too), as this is way better than I though I could ever achieve. Feeling pretty chuffed as I'm fitter than ever at over 40. I'm wondering now if I've peaked or if I could do even better?!

                  Hooray!

Got mine today, 1:29:54. I'll take the PR but I didn't race well.

You couldn't have raced all that badly either Walt, congrats!

They don't give points for pretty anyways.  You got it, Walt.RB.  Great job!

This is funny, no one calls me Bashkim Nader, but you can

Bleh.  Things can't always be pretty.  It's a PR and a sub-90.  Congrats!

There was a point in my life when I ran. Now, I just run.
