Your story is my favorite, Gregg. That's my kind of inspiration.
To paraphrase an old poster: Today is the first day of the rest of your training. It doesn’t matter where you started or how far you’ve come. Today is the day. Your training didn’t start 6 weeks ago. Your training started the last time you hit the road. John “the Penguin” Bingham Life is not tried, it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire

Thanks! I try to keep my humor about it all. I must!! I am 52 (soon to be 53) and have known for the past 2 year what is going to kill me. Running is going to put that day off for a long time!

Gregg, That is a story that you should be proud of. You've stuck with it through some tough challenges. I'm sure you will do wonderful at the half in May, and you've got a great 5K time!!
Prophet!

How To Run a Marathon: Step 1 - start running. There is no Step 2.
Great story. Looking forward to hearing about your progress as the Mini approaches ... only 113 days and counting!
Are you running it too?
I see you are from So Ca or as I call it The Peoples Socialist Republic of California. I was born in Santa Monica and raised in Simi Valley. I don't really miss it! The ground here doesn't move! 3 big ones was enough!! I do miss prospecting out of Azusa though! So were in that mess are you?
I'm in West LA near Santa Monica. I love running to the beach and in the little Santa Monica neighborhoods. The weather is so amazing to me! I've been in a couple of small earthquakes in the past 5 years, but nothing major. I'm just here for another year or two probably
I thought of you this morning .... when I took off my old Asics and half a pound of Manhattan Beach dribbled onto the carpet.
