CalBears is a beast.
Everyone's gotta running blog; I'm the only one with a POOL-RUNNING blog.
And...if you want a running Instagram where all the pictures are of cats, I've got you covered.
Through 40k in 2h49, estimated 2:58:42, he should cross the finish line in about 3 minutes. What a beast!
Unbelievable pacing,2:58:20

I swear to you, I'm sitting in my car tracking and I saw him finish and literally said out loud "oh my God what a beast."
Okay I'm done listening to this man's sob stories about why he's not going to run well anymore. I fell for it again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Hot Weather Complainer
He’s done exactly what I predicted. The man, the legend, has done it again

Mmmm Bop
Cal is old school and tough as old boots…he doesn’t need 8 days to get used to an 8 hour time difference and he can drink 1.5 litres of beer 2 days before a marathon.
He didn’t look in the slightest bit jet lagged when I met him on Friday…so take what he says online with a large grain of salt.
5k - 17:53 (4/19) 10k - 37:53 (11/18) Half - 1:23:18 (4/19) Full - 2:50:43 (4/19)
Legendary! He'll probably tell us he's pissed caused he missed a moose mug by 20 seconds (did he?)
Legendary indeed! This man will continue to run sub 3:00 well into his sixties. Congrats Cal!
Thanks all. Couldn’t really have been a bigger disaster. Started feeling cramp and almost pulled out at 27km when I saw my mate because I knew what was about to happen. But I shuffled home, with about 5 stops for excruciating cramp. Energy felt fine, I just couldn’t move my legs without cramp. Absolutely gutted. I’m having beers now
Well it could if you’d taken my advice to go out at 3:10 pace! I hope the experience hasn’t put you off marathons and you go for another one once the dust settles. 👍
