Writing an article for beginners/returning runners. Let's make sure I cover my bases. (Read 200 times)

For a newbie, I think the most important thing is to just get out there. No need to get in shape to get out there, get out there to get in shape.

If you can't run at first, walk. If you are overweight and dieting, walking will help a lot. Then when ready do some slow jog. Losing weight will allow you to run better. Running is the reward for losing weight.

Getting outside and doing something is better than doing nothing.

And we're done. Thanks - some great responses!
