Strep one weekend, race next weekend? (Read 361 times)

I'm starting to worry. I spent the weekend in bed with strep. Sunday I went to urgent care and was put on antibiotics--I told the Dr. that I would be running a half marathon next weekend. He said I would be great by next Sunday. I am just beginning to feel a little better. I'm sure I'll be over the sickness part of it by then--I'm just not sure about the strength part. Has anyone been through something similar?

But I am curious about your experience. I had exactly the same thing happen in 2005 9 days before a marathon and had a very bad race.... still I don't think it did me any lasting harm to run it.
