How are you today, Pam? Glad you had a pleasant distraction yesterday (and sorry to hear the drive back wasn't so pleasant). I hope things go well tomorrow (assuming that's when you have your tests). Thought of you on my run today, you're a good mascot (even when you don;t know you're being one)!
feeling like crap but trying to be positive. Thanks! I'll be heading over to the lab as soon as I drop the twins off at camp tomorrow. Did I have a costume on? lol j/k
Your toughness is made up of equal parts persistence and experience. You don't so much outrun your opponents as outlast and outsmart them, and the toughest opponent of all is the one inside your head." - Joe Henderson
You were dressed as a penguin and had pom poms and were encouraging but firm! Okay, you were you, but you as a penguin would be quite cool.
Keep staying positive, we're all thinking of you, and keep us updated. Hopefully this is the last stint of feeling bad before some significant improvements and understanding of what is going on.

Best of luck, we are thinking of you.

Thanks guys! Blood is drawn and now just waiting on the results. Should be as early (not that that is early)as Friday I believe before I find anything out. I've been debating on whether to go to my appointment with the hand specialist but I figure why not. I'll be interested in his take of my EMG-NCV results at least.
2 weeks off. So far no pelvis pain after a single run, so that is good. However within 15 minutes of running my piriformis was on fire and I could not (and can't) really walk right at all. I guess tomorrow I go out and try to tear something and hope that fixes it.
Well glad to hear no pelvis pain but CRAP@ the piriformis!!! Hope you can beat it into submission! Good luck on your run today Spaniel!
This thread keeps me from doing hard workouts ... ones that are pushing the envelope.
Last night I was on TM and doing a longer run (18) with mile repeats toward the end. I was doing them a bit faster (5:49) than my resent 5k (5:58) - I felt really good and after the 4th - I thought I could do one more ... Then I remembered my motto - Good workouts, not great.
I think as long as I am making steady improvement (Say getting better each month) - I will keep the workouts moderate and not hard.
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
I really wish that were my problem, the fix would be easier.
It is frustrating as I have been blessed with almost 20 years of injury-free running. It seems it is time to pay the piper.
Frankly I think it all goes back to sitting too much at work. After 4 days off work I'm back in the office and I can already feel the increased tightness.
We have someone that has a workstation on a table so they can stand and work -

Me too and I feel your frustration! Though I haven't had 20 years of running only 6. Hope the tightness goes away ASAP Spaniel!
Saw hand specialist today and was told that he can't really help me until the root of the problem is figured out. He wants me to see a Neurologist (which my regular doctor is already working on) Anyway he said that, yes the EMG-NCV test showed that the Ulna nerve is compressed that there were also signs of issue's stemming from the central nervous system. He said he would have suspected T-1 but that the tests showed that as having no problems. He did however send me home with a handy dandy pair of camo colored elbow pads to wear day and night to help with the Ulna neuropathy. Oh he did say I can run and bike, that I just can't bend my arms up from the elbow and keep them that way lol

Good is better than poor! I like your thinking about the steady improvement!
My boss has been fighting politics for 2 months to make this happen.

One advantage of being short is ability to work standing up at standard desks. Get a lot of weird looks and comments the few times I am in the office and do this.
