Funny how I'm right where I should be at, mileage wise, compared to my last three years It's almost the middle of the year, so the trend is pretty smooth by now And I'm in the lower half of the rankings. I wouldn't have thought. Very interesting. At the end of the year, there will be the rankings to win gold stars based on the rules posted in the OP, but on top of that, I'll try all kinds of different scoring systems on the data and see how that affects the standings. Not that I want to win, but I do find it odd that I'm that low in the standings. Then again, maybe it's just me and this group is doing awesomely good this year. I'm still curious as to know the effect of different scoring systems.

Not too surprising since been at a steady, high level for a few years now, and some have been on an increasing trend. Play around with the scoring or change it permanently if you want. And you can still feel free to drop out my injury year since that’s pretty heavily skewing my number. Although even without that I think I’d be pretty high up there. Last year was 400 miles more than my previous PB, and this
year I’m on track to even exceed that. Even right now after marathon taper & recovery.

That is great that you're having a superb year!
It is an experiment. I wanted to see if I could have a scoring system that takes away maybe some annoyances provided by the real RA miles game. In that sense my system works. The rules are what they are and there can be no sandbagging. But on the other hand, and I knew that because you all told me, this game gives an advantage to runners who are in the rise or have had a bad year in the previous 3.
I think there is also a benefit if you have a lower average. It's a heck of a lot easier to get an extra 10% if it's 2.7 miles vs probably 7 or 8 for you.
Where there is a downsideis if you intentionally are descreasing. I find I am more comfortable in the high 20s. I can bump that occassionally (and have been for the other game), but it's not sustainable for me.
StdDev leaders (haven't posted it in a while)
Ginny 4.09%, Cyberic 8.29% , wcrunner 10.96%, Baboon 11.27% , DaveP 16.93%
I just reread the rules, and consistency points are like this: first place gets 100 pts, 2nd place 90 pts, and so on.
Since this is pretty much the middle of the year, Ginny would get an extra 50 points dor first place and that would bring her score up to 304 pts, well in 3rd place.

That other game is absolutely killng my consistency, but, my team is currently in first place, so it's a trade off.

Week 26, half the year!
*I'm going to try to put up the scores including half the points of the standard deviation to see what the standings would be. When I say I'm going to try means I'll try to find the time.
Ok, so here is what the overall score would look like right now if I gave the best StdDev% score 50 points, 2nd 45, 3rd 40, and so on, and added that to the score.
And if those added consistency points were 100, 90, 80 and so on, here's what it would look like:
So consistency points make a big difference for Bluerun, Ginny and Me, and for the rest, they don't really make any difference.
Well, they do make a difference for those who drop in the standings due to you, Ginny, and Bluerun moving up.
Actually BlueRun goes down in the rankings, and so do you I see. But for most people, they remain in a very similar spot at very quick glance.
Staging my comeback.
Are we there, yet?
I think this is the first week I haven't gotten at least 10 points. Three unplanned days off will do that.
