Up until now all my the shoes I've owned had were of similar quality. 3 pairs of Asic Gel Cumulus (12s, 13s and 14s). Got between 500-600 miles out of them. I have 2 pairs of Mizuno Wave Riders 16s in my rotation right now with well over 500 miles on both of them. I expect them to outlast the Cumulus I've owned. I have a pair of Mizuno Wave Sayonaras, with 300 miles on them, still new. I like the Wave Riders 16s so much, I have two brand new pairs in their boxes since the 17s are out, the 16s were on sale Then I wanted to try something new, so I bought a pair of NB 890V4. They look great, they felt great on my feet. I'm an underpronator and it is bad for those NB shoes. They have about 200 miles on them and their outsoles show signs of wear much greater than all my other shoes at 500-600 miles. I thought running shoes' outsoles were all about the same, but they are not. Far from it. ETA: Sorry grammar police. I try to write good English, but I'm somewhat limited in Shakespeare's tongue.

I have 890s in v1 and v3, and really love them ... as long as I'm not on pavement. They just don't have enough heel cushioning for me to put on many miles on pavement with them. But for the crushed rock rail-trail or true hiking trails, they have been great. I have almost 400 miles on the v1s and don't notice much wear at all (I also supinate).
Ooh, I bought those. I cannot wait to hit the trails with those. Hayate or the other ones? Which ones?
Planning on getting the Hayate! I assume that's what you got?
8 x 200 @ 5k (44) - 1 mi (39) pace. Plan was to start at the slower end and speed up, but I didn't have the patience for that shit!
