2 hours in 5 degrees, -15 windchill. At least January is near the end.

          Nice racing Sly!

Something like 24 with a 14 windchill when I went out today at 9:30. Which did not seem too awful, and usually warms up a few degrees. So I went out with 2 shirts, hat, and one pair of gloves. Not enough. I usually get warmed up after a few miles, but I felt cold all over through the entire run. Got home & saw that it was now 22 with 11 windchill. Ugh. Anyway, glad to be back inside.

15.2 miles at 8:52 average, picked it up the last 2 miles for 7:51 & 7:42.

          57.3 for the week.

I wish there was some football to watch this afternoon. Oh, there's the Pro Bowl? I said football.

          And one for Dave too!

What a pretty boy. This made me forget about my crappy 15 mile run this morning. I left the house feeling good and the last four miles were torture. I got home and not even a hot shower could stop me from shivering. I took my temp and it's 101.8. Damn. I haven't been sick in about 10 years. Now I'm watching "Boyhood" and posting from the phone. Oh, some of DD's friends TP'd our house last night and we have a lot of trees. Damn. Just damn.

Sly: great time! Congrats, man. That was a FAST race.

Jack, hope you feel better in no time!   And I assume DD is the one who is going to clean up all that mess...

            Barking Mad To Run

Weather today:  Just beautiful, it eventually went up to 70 degrees today, with bright sunshine, nice!  I went to Fort Sam this morning and started my run/walk at about 11 a.m.  Plan was for about 3 miles of hills but apparently the weather had me feeling so good I ended up with 4.7 miles, with about half  of my miles being hills (5 uphills, 3 dowhills) in 53:17, sheesh.  As I went back into the gym I thought I would forego my weight training circuit after having my legs do all those hills...but then I noticed the free weights were all being very busily used, but the machine weights (which I have to use because of my back) were not busy at all....so I said what the heck...and ended up doing my 45-minute weight training circuit post-run.  My old-man body was a bit tired after all that!   Monday is definitely a rest day, after my 5K on Saturday, followed by hills and weights on Sunday.

Oh yeah..this is our forecast for the next 7 days.....nice, huh?      Except Saturday...I do actually have another January race on Saturday, the 31st and then one on Sunday, Feb 1st.   Why does the temp here always seem to drop below 60 in January and February on the morning I have a race scheduled?  I'd much rather it be 60 and above for my races, warm-weather loving person that I am.

Scotty, OMG.  That forecast would not be unusual for June here.

17.1 with a couple chunks at MP.  Not as beat as yesterday, but still not where I'd like to be.  I'll back off a bit for the next week to hopefully avoid overtraining.

                Former Bad Ass

So, Miss Universe is in my backyard (1 mile away) and I only noticed two days ago, even though the candidates have been here for 3 weeks.  Oops.  At least they mentioned my city as the youngest and hippest city in Florida.  Woohoo.  Good thing I don't appear in any of the videos running anywhere.

That forecast would be unusual here too for June...And January, February, March, etc., through December.  LOL.

Somehow, I have managed to download a virus onto my computer. Something called ctb locker, great.

LRB, a local runner is planning an attempt to run a 5:00 mile for his 50th birthday later this year.  You should come give him a little competition. Smile

That sure as hell is better than attempting a 50 mile run on a 50th birthday!

Not sure I'll ever get there but will certainly try.
