Singer who runs a smidge
The "Penguin" daily threads were originally conceived to emphasize that all members of the community have a place on the boards. Encouragement, motivation, a little love nip (you will love one, give it a try!) or even a little kick in the pants when needed -- it can happen here. Basically, we celebrate just getting out there and moving our tails! What is "slow"? "Slow" is a perception but one of the common benchmarks is the 10:00/mi pace; but there's no firm line. In fact, there are many of us that have slipped past this, and just hope that no one notices and revokes their "igloo privileges." And some penguins don't run at all, we just hang out for the company! It can be confusing for the forum newbies, but we're not one of the teams in any of the fine games. It's a totally open group, so stop lurking, post an introduction of yourself dive in and join the fun! No application necessary! There might even be a lovely picture for Scotty (we love pics!)
When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run. The only thing that matters is how we have loved.
Today is National Underwear Day, and I have no idea why. So hopefully you've got some on and it's clean!
A very short week for me this week -- I'm working today and tomorrow, and then I'm off Wednesday for packing and laundry. Thursday (way too early) I hop a flight for San Antonio, where I'll spend Thursday-Sunday morning learning all the wisdom of Sweet Adelines directors, woo-hoo! Then I'm off next Monday to recuperate and catch up on sleep. Should be great fun and lots of learning!
Yoga today, though I ran short of time, so I shorted the standing and seated poses a little. Then biking also. My body feels like it's fighting off a cold, so I'm trying to do things to support good health, especially since I'm getting on a plane in a few days. So I went to bed early last night, am trying to drink more water, eat more fruit, etc.

Morning! I ran 18 yesterday and did a shit ton of laundry. We also packed a couple more things Saturday and 1/8 of the house is in boxes so we are not caught too surprised when my start date comes in.
I have 6 or my RD.
HopesMom, glad it's a short week for you and hope you enjoy the trip.

HM - sounds like a fun trip. Is DH going with you?
D - congratulations on the 18 miles. It's funny, when you pack up the things you don't need, after a while you wonder if you ever did need them. I remember enjoying the feeling of space when some of the clutter was cleared away prior to a move. Of course, once we moved, most of that stuff reappeared, but some of it is still in boxes and hasn't been looked at in 8 years.
Docket -- start date for what? How am I out of the loop?
DH is staying home, which is freaking us both out a little. We're kind of pathetically attached at the hip. I'm sure the separation is good for us ... somehow ...
HM - I absolutely understand that. Jim and I have been together for 27 years. Since we moved in together, I don't think we've spent more than 15-20 days apart in all that time. I did a 5 day backpack trip alone when we were first together, then there were a couple of work conferences back in the 90s, but that's it. I don't think we've spent a night apart in 20 years except when he had his knee surgery in 2008.
I have to keep reminding myself that I flew, and changed planes! alone prior to getting married. Seriously, this is not a new thing for me. Just unfamiliar after 17 years!
No yoga today, as it was tough getting DH out of bed and I ran out of time. Biking done, though!
Morning! I have 6 and weights since I didn't run yesterday.
Ginny, yeah. I am letting go of a lot of things I have not worn/used for a year. Selling Sparkle Skirts as well.
HopesMom, you must be out of the loop, I am transferring to the Indianapolis office!!! Date TBD since the government runs so slow. Hope your husband survives your absence.
Well hooray for you and DH, Docket!! It' CAN'T be as hot all the time in Indy, right??
